Adding users without a directory

If you don’t have Active Directory, add users in the console and give them a profile. Use the same process to add phones and Macs, even if you have a directory.

Add a user

1. Add a device

   Add a device in the console and give it a label, such as the employee’s name and device name. You can also add an email address. The label and email address stay on the server.

2. Deliver the profile

   Choose how to deliver the profile: download a file, display a QR code to scan with a phone, or send it by email through your company’s mail server. The email does not pass through nuVPN.

3. The employee imports the profile

   The employee opens the nuVPN app, imports the file or scans the code, and connects.

Caution

The profile is available for delivery only once. If it is lost, revoke the device and add a new one.

Send by email

To send profiles by email, configure your company’s mail server (SMTP or Microsoft 365) in the console. Messages are sent through that server.

Revoke access

When an employee leaves or loses a device, revoke the device in the console. Revocation takes effect immediately, and the device can no longer connect.
