Trials and NFR licenses
A 14-day customer trial, conversion to a paid license, and NFR licenses for your own use as a partner.
Customer trial
Section titled “Customer trial”- You start the trial manually: click New customer and select Trial as the license type. The trial does not start automatically.
- The trial lasts 14 days from the date you create the license, not the installation date. It’s best to create the license when the customer is ready to install.
- The trial is free.
- You can have up to 3 active trial licenses at a time. This is the default limit for a partner account. Licenses with expired trials and licenses converted to paid licenses do not count toward this limit.
- An alert appears on the overview page in the partner panel 3 days before the trial ends.
- When the trial ends, the gateway stops generating new profiles. Connected devices are not disconnected.
Convert to a paid license
Section titled “Convert to a paid license”- On the customer page, click Convert to a paid license.
- The license continues to run on the same server, with no reinstallation or new profiles.
- Billing starts on the day you convert the license, at your partner wholesale price. Billing details appear in the partner panel.
- You can also convert the license after the trial ends, as long as it has not been canceled.
- You cannot convert a license while your partner account is blocked because of an outstanding balance.
NFR licenses
Section titled “NFR licenses”- You get 2 free NFR (Not For Resale) licenses for use in your office or lab. They are not for resale or use in a customer’s production environment.
- You create these licenses on the NFR licenses page. They are assigned to an internal customer with your company’s name and the suffix
(internal). - An NFR license supports up to 5 profiles and has no expiration date.
- When you cancel an NFR license, its slot becomes available for a new license at the end of the month.
