nuVPN documentation

nuVPN is a fast, private VPN built on WireGuard. Encrypt your connection on any network and route your traffic through your own dedicated server or a shared server in one of 11+ countries. Apps are available for Android, iOS, macOS, Windows and Linux.

What is nuVPN

nuVPN encrypts every connection your device makes and sends it through a secure server, so your internet provider, public Wi-Fi and trackers can't see your traffic or your real IP address.

Create your account

    Choose a plan

    Open the pricing page and pick a shared or dedicated plan, monthly or yearly.
  2. 2

    Sign up

    Enter your email and complete checkout. We'll send a one-time code to verify your address.
  3. 3

    Your server is provisioned

    For dedicated plans we spin up a private server for you automatically, usually within a couple of minutes.
  4. 4

    You're ready

    Sign in to the client area to manage your subscription and download your configuration.

Install the app

Download the nuVPN app for your platform from the download page:

  • Android — install from Google Play or the direct APK.
  • iOS / iPadOS — install from the App Store.
  • macOS — download the .dmg and drag nuVPN into Applications.
  • Windows — run the installer and follow the prompts.
  • Linux — download the AppImage or .deb package.

The app is optional — nuVPN uses standard WireGuard, so you can also connect with any WireGuard client using a config file (see Manual config below).

Connect to a server

    Open the app and sign in

    Use the same email you signed up with. The app loads your servers automatically.
  2. 2

    Pick a location

    Choose your dedicated server, or a shared location from the list.
  3. 3

    Tap Connect

    The status turns green when the tunnel is up. All traffic is now encrypted.
  4. 4

    Disconnect any time

    Tap the button again to stop. Your connection returns to normal instantly.

Import a .nuvpn config

A .nuvpn file is a standard WireGuard configuration. Use it to connect from the official app or any WireGuard client — handy for routers, servers or unsupported devices.

    Download your config

    In the client area, open your VPN page and download the .nuvpn file.
  2. 2

    Import it

    Open the file with the nuVPN app (double-click on desktop, or Share → nuVPN on mobile). Any WireGuard client can import it too.
  3. 3

    Activate the tunnel

    Turn on the imported profile to connect.

Treat your .nuvpn file like a password — anyone who has it can connect as you. Don't share it. If it leaks, regenerate it from the client area.

Troubleshooting

The app won't connect

Check that your internet works without the VPN, then try another server location. On mobile, allow nuVPN to add a VPN configuration when prompted.

It connected but websites don't load

Disconnect and reconnect, or switch server. If you imported a manual config, re-download a fresh .nuvpn file.

I didn't get my verification code

Check your spam folder and that the email address is correct. You can request a new code from the sign-in screen.

I want to use a router or another device

Use a .nuvpn config file with any WireGuard client — see Manual config above.
